The Need for Technology Leadership

Become a Tech Leader
Educators consistently work hard with one purpose in mind: to help all students learn and grow.  A digital leader, therefore, comes alongside educators to help them fulfill this goals through technology.  Our schools need more teachers to become technology leaders on their campus.
21st Century Skills
Digital leaders can support their staff with the value of integrating 21st century skills into curriculum. This begins with providing knowledge of the importance of digital technology for our 21st century students.  This significant information could be shared through articles, posts, and professional development, but it should swiftly be expanded to supporting the integration of technology into curriculum.
SAMR Model
In education there is a wide range of technology awareness.  Therefore, a strong digital leader will meet the educators within their abilities of technology, and then support them to expand their capacity to incorporate technology progressively through the SAMR model (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition).
 Share and Collaborate

Another powerful way to create change is to develop lesson plans with teachers, and then co-teach classes
together.  This allows for collaboration, communication, and reflection all research-based ways to improve  instruction.  When this approach is coupled with technology, the digital leader can influence positive  technology integration not only for the teachers, but the students as well.
